SURA Selected as Subcontractor for NASA Ames Research Center’s $256M FILMSS II Contract
WASHINGTON D.C. – The Southeastern Universities Research Association (SURA) is proud to announce its role as a subcontractor in the recently awarded Fully Integrated Lifecycle Mission Support Services 2 (FILMSS II) contract, led by Amentum Services Inc. of Chantilly, VA. The contract, awarded by NASA Ames Research Center in California, encompasses a broad range of critical support services.
Under the FILMSS II contract, the Amentum / SURA team will receive comprehensive program, engineering, project management, and operations support. The scope includes advancing biosciences flight development projects, astrobiology collaborative science programs, aeronautics initiatives, and other specialized technical and professional services.
The FILMSS II contract is a single-award, hybrid agreement combining cost-plus-fixed-fee core requirements and indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity task orders. The contract carries a total potential value of $256 million and will commence on December 1, 2024, following a 60-day transition period beginning October 1, 2024. It includes a base period of two years, with three additional one-year options.

SURA’s primary role will be to provide senior-level scientific expertise across the various research domains involved in the contract, leveraging its extensive network of research universities to meet NASA’s needs.
